Cary Nunnally owns and operates a commercial art and printing company under her name. Cary attended both Wells College and Virginia Commonwealth University (“…went 4 ½ years all told but never had time to graduate—too much to do. I love learning but not while sitting in a classroom!”).
She is a long-time student of the U.S. constitution and Declaration of Independence and spends most of her time in political activism. She has a track record of getting things done and in recognition of that was named to 2007’s “Top10 People of the Year” by the Newport News Daily Press which covers southeastern Virginia.
Cary is active on political campaigns in her area and is currently involved in RETRO, a non-profit organization she founded in 2005, that fights for ‘reasonable’ property tax levels (“Retro is looking for a fair shake for average folks.”) in Newport News. Says Cary: “we have achieved a majority (of like-minded representatives) on NN City Council and have seen many changes for the better” in just the last half of 2009.
Cary also founded the Transportation Recall Action Network or TRAN, a political action committee in the Tidewater area that has since disbanded after the local transportation authority was abolished.
She is a member of Restore Inner City Peace and donates her time and art talent to PFAC the local art center.
